In response to the recent severe flooding in The Ark-La-Tex, Holmes Honda has partnered with The American Red Cross to raise funds that will provide direct assistance to those in need. Holmes Honda will donate $100 from the each vehicle sold through April 2016. This donation will support the Louisiana Tornadoes and Storms Fund. Additionally, Holmes Honda has set up a website, through the Red Cross, to allow any individual in the community to donate to the relief efforts.

“There are families that have lost everything in the flooding and as the water recedes we’re working to do everything we can to help get them back on their feet,” Said Mark Johnson, President of Holmes Auto Group. “This is our home that we have lived in and served for over almost eight decades so for us it’s less about business and more about doing what is needed for our friends and neighbors. These are the folks that we attend church with, play softball with, and raise our families with.”

The Red Cross is operating shelters, serving meals and providing health and mental health services to impacted residents.

“Entire families, young and old alike, have lost their homes and everything they own in this flooding. We are providing shelter and food right now, and we’ll continue to support anyone in need as the water recedes and they begin to plan their next steps,” said Brad Kieserman, vice president, Disaster Services Operations and Logistics for the Red Cross. “Our work is really just beginning, and we need financial support from the public to continue helping residents recover from this devastating situation.”

Holmes Honda is located on Bert Kouns in the Shreveport Automall at 1331 E. BertKouns. For more information on the relief efforts of Holmes Honda, or to make a donation to The American Red cross efforts in Louisiana, visit Holmeshonda.com
